Up from the ashes as the Phoenix, DVD Dhamaka,  http://www.dvddhamaka.com/index.php  , has a new site.  Quick-loading with nicely sized and clear images, the site has many search parameters, but most do not work yet.  Registered users will be able to rate and submit reviews - not available yet - and the film details are basic with a synopsis. 

There are approximately 40 Govinda films available in the catalog - the standard offerings.  In their previous incarnation, DVD Dhamaka offered over 60 Govinda films with VCDs, CDs and even VHS tapes.  Their new site only offers DVDs and CDs and the site's format is aimed towards Western buyers.  Based out of New Jersey, USA, the shipping fees and time are standard while the video prices range from .99 to over $100.   

We at Govinda Ahuja Info purchased two separate orders from this company in very early 2008.  Both orders were received in good condition and in the expected shipping time frame.  There are forums with complaints against this company which could indicate a change in management or degradation in integrity.

BS Bazaar, http://www.bsbazaar.com/movies/indian/1.htm  , out of Bangalore, India offers VCDs, DVDs, CDs and clothing.  A scant 15 Govinda films in the catalog, but prices are affordable.  Various payment options, modest search parameters, but not enough details provided for products.

Pros:

The company does not accept checks, but will write you a check should you have a balance when you cancel your subscription.
Only a one day rental.  Ex. A disc arrives on Monday and your must have it ready to return on Tuesday, otherwise, you incur a running late fee.
The subscriber has no control over the pick-up time.

Site is slow-loading.
The Govinda catalog is not extensive.

"All members are entitled to borrow a disc overnight. Delivery charges will be applicable as per applied plans and schemes announced by company time to time. Our delivery service will deliver / pick up discs between 10 am and 9 pm and will make delivery / pick-up per transaction. All movies are due to be returned the following day by default. Members who fail to return a movie with time limit within the specified time frame will be charged a late fee per title for every subsequent day, unless and until the disc is returned. The onus to return a title rests with the member. The definition of day refers to a day date calendar and not a 24 hour period. Pick-ups / deliveries will be done only once in the given time slot and will not return again in the event of the disc not being available / no authorized person to accept the disc."

Sofa Cinema, http://www.sofacinema.co.uk/visitor/searchresults.html?field=cast&search_keywords=govinda&page=1  , is similar to the US Netflix service.  Sign-up with your credit card, select films for your queue and wait for each title to arrive by mail.  The monthly subscription allows you to keep your title, or video game, with no time constraint.  This fairly recent site, 2006, has select films for download.  Sofa Cinema delivers to the Uk and Northern Ireland.  


     

Amazon.com, http://www.amazon.com/  , an international marketplace for everything, including reseller items.  The Govinda catalog has pricey DVDs, some with English subs, some without.  Purchasing from Amazon, you can select free shipping - takes approximately a week to ship.   

UPCs for movies not available in the Amazon database cannot be sold.  What this means is, if you purchase movies directly from India or Pakistan and attempt to resell them on the US Amazon, the barcode may not be registered with Amazon and may be prohibited from selling the item.  This is also true for DVDs which have more than one film on a single disc.  No VCDs allowed on the US site at this time.

Purchasing from resellers offers inexpensive products, but the shipping may negate the savings.  Resellers are marked by quantity of products sold and are rated by their customers.  Purchase from a reseller who will give you a tracking number.


Currently available:

Indian DVD Wala, http://www.indiandvdwala.com/dvd/kewordsearch.asp , has a nice selection of Govinda films.  A little pricey for DVD's, but shipping is fast and the products arrive well-packaged and secure.  The site specializes in older Hindi films.
